Session Summary Little conjures up a more negative mental picture than the mention of elder abuse, mistreatment and/or neglect. Physical or sexual abuse is a red flag issue for families and plaintiff attorneys. Elder abuse can take the form of physical, sexual, financial and/or emotional acts of exploitation. Often there is a combination of those factors.
Pat Iyer MSN RN is a legal nurse consultant, speaker, author, editor and coach. She has written or edited 49 of her own books. After Pat served as the editor for the first and second editions of Nursing Home Litigation: Investigation and Case Preparation, she spent time educating legal practitioners and clinicians about nursing home liability.
