Let’s Take the Pain out of Pain Management!

Wednesday, January 13, 2021 | 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm (EST)

In this lecture, Dr. Avery will be connecting the principles of pain management with practical at-the-bedside advice that can be used to relief pain in any setting (home, hospice unit, nursing home, assisted living, hospital and independent living). You will learn how to give hope in seemingly hopeless situations as you understand the concepts of “total pain” and suffering. By the end of this lecture, you will be comfortable treating pain in your end-of-life patients and residents.

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the general principles of pain management
  • Navigate the WHO analgesic ladder
  • Understand the “ins and outs” of opioid analgesics
